Take Note Troupe, or TNT, is a non profit corporation formed to teach, train and operate a performing arts group exclusively for charitable and public purposes. It holds weekly classes for 30 youth aged 14 to 19 years of age who would like to learn performing arts and perform in the community. TNT’s volunteers and participants are located in the greater Placer county area. They are interested in the performing arts and committed to furthering an appreciation for cultural standards such as Shakespeare and classical poetry in their community. TNT’s 4 productions a year, presented via field trip shows for schools, assemblies and public performances, provide an appealing introduction to the classics and ignite interest in education. Response from educators in the community has been very positive.
"The TNT shows represent some of the most innovative educational theater being done in this area. The ensemble works with familiar material, adding new twists. Cultural standards like Shakespeare and Laura Ingalls Wilder are made accessible even to those who have never seen a play before. Both vivacious and wholesome, TNT has the makings of an award-winning company." Lorna Schofield...Elly Judge 03/04
“TNT’s performance captivated the audience with their wonderful costumes, and talented, entertaining performers!”
Marie Mulvany, 8th grade teacher, Placer School
“TNT's presentation on public speaking covered the most important concepts junior high students need to know. The members of TNT gave an outstanding performance of non-verbal communication skills at a level our students could understand and relate to. We applaud your efforts and are grateful both for the timing (it fit directly into our curriculum) and for the fact that this helps us teach required standards.” Olympus Junior High School, 7th grade core Wendy Hamasaki
TNT seeks to use the performing arts to increase enthusiasm and appreciation for the arts in the community while learning and sharing valuable principles and knowledge and developing talents in the performing arts. TNT’s productions inspire audiences to have hope and celebrate the positive that exists in every community. Performers and audience members both gain from TNT’s performances. TNT participants gain experiences that develop individual confidence and poise while strengthening interpersonal skills as they present productions that celebrate the human potential. Venues for developing talents are created as amateurs participate in the arts through drama, musical performance and writing. Every effort is made to establish a supportive environment where opportunities to discover and develop talents occur.
